Supplementary Promotional Terms and Conditions –  

MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS 

The following terms and conditions apply exclusively to the MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS promotional membership products. Except where expressly varied below, all MOVE Southwark Membership Terms and Conditions and the Cancellation and Refund Policy remain applicable. 

1. Promotional Period 

The MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS promotional memberships are available to purchase between 1 August 2026 and 31 March 2027 only. Memberships cannot be purchased at the promotional rate outside of this period. 

2. Eligibility 

The promotional offer is available only to customers who purchase a MOVE LOCAL or MOVE LOCAL PLUS membership during the promotional sales period. Eligibility for existing MOVE Southwark members wishing to transfer to the promotional membership shall be determined at the discretion of MOVE Southwark. 

3. Promotional Membership Fee 

The promotional membership fee is fixed for 12 consecutive calendar months from the member's joining date, provided the membership remains active and continuous throughout the promotional period. 

4. Payment 

The promotional memberships are available by Direct Debit payment only. 

The first monthly membership payment is payable at the point of joining. Thereafter, the remaining monthly payments will be collected by Direct Debit on the Council's published collection dates until a total of 12 monthly membership payments have been made. 

5. Membership Access 

MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS memberships provide access exclusively to: 

• Surrey Docks Fitness & Watersports Centre; and  

• Southwark Park Sports & Athletics Centre.  

Access includes the gym, group exercise classes and any other activities included within the selected membership package at those participating sites. 

6. Excluded Facilities 

The promotional memberships do not include access to: 

• Canada Water Leisure Centre, Dulwich Leisure Centre, Camberwell Leisure Centre, Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre, The Castle Leisure Centre;  

• Swimming pools;  

• Any other MOVE Southwark leisure centres or facilities unless expressly stated.  

7. Automatic Transfer 

At the end of the 12-month promotional period, memberships will automatically transfer to the equivalent standard MOVE Southwark membership applicable at that time. 

The prevailing standard membership fee will apply from the first payment following the promotional period unless the membership has been cancelled in accordance with the MOVE Southwark Membership Terms and Conditions. 

8. Advance Notification 

MOVE Southwark will provide reasonable notice before the promotional period ends, advising members of: 

• the membership product they will transfer to;  

• the applicable monthly membership fee; and  

• their options should they wish to cancel before the transfer takes effect.  

9. Membership Freeze or Suspension 

Notwithstanding the MOVE Southwark Membership Terms and Conditions, MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS promotional memberships are not eligible to be frozen or suspended during the 12-month promotional period. 

Any request to freeze or suspend the membership will result in the promotional membership ending. Should the member subsequently recommence their membership, the prevailing standard membership fee will apply. 

10. Cancellation During the Promotional Period 

Members may cancel their membership at any time by providing the required notice in accordance with the MOVE Southwark Membership Terms and Conditions. 

Where a membership is cancelled before the end of the 12-month promotional period, the promotional rate will end and cannot be reinstated. 

Should the member subsequently rejoin, they will be required to purchase the equivalent standard membership at the prevailing price available at the time of rejoining and will not be eligible to re-enter the promotional offer. 

11. Continuous Membership 

The promotional membership fee is conditional upon the member maintaining a continuous active membership throughout the 12-month promotional period. 

Any cancellation, termination or lapse in membership will permanently end eligibility for the promotional rate. 

12. Upgrades 

Members may upgrade to another eligible MOVE Southwark membership at any time. 

Upon upgrade, the promotional membership will end immediately and the applicable standard membership fee for the new membership will apply. The promotional rate cannot be transferred to another membership product. 

13. Changes Between Promotional Memberships 

Members may not transfer between MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS during the 12-month promotional period. 

14. Failed Direct Debit Payments 

Where a Direct Debit payment is missed, cancelled or returned unpaid, the membership will be administered in accordance with the MOVE Southwark Membership Terms and Conditions. 

Where the promotional membership is cancelled as a result of non-payment, the promotional rate will be forfeited and cannot be reinstated. 

15. Non-transferability 

Promotional memberships are personal to the member, are non-transferable and may not be assigned to another individual. 

16. Other Promotions 

The MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS promotional memberships cannot be used in conjunction with any other membership promotion, discount or offer unless expressly authorised by MOVE Southwark. 

17. Withdrawal of the Promotion 

The promotional offer is intended to remain available for purchase until 31 March 2027. However, MOVE Southwark reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw the promotion before this date where operational, financial or business requirements make this necessary. 

This will not affect members who have already joined the promotion and continue to comply with these terms and conditions. 

18. Fraud or Misuse 

MOVE Southwark reserves the right to withdraw the promotional membership or promotional pricing where it reasonably believes the promotion has been obtained fraudulently, misused or where these terms and conditions have been breached. 

19. Relationship with Standard Membership Terms 

Except where expressly varied by these Supplementary Promotional Terms and Conditions, all MOVE Southwark Membership Terms and Conditions and the Cancellation and Refund Policy shall continue to apply. 

In the event of any inconsistency between these Supplementary Promotional Terms and the standard MOVE Southwark Membership Terms and Conditions, these Supplementary Promotional Terms shall prevail in relation to MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS memberships. 

Important: MOVE LOCAL and MOVE LOCAL PLUS are promotional memberships available for a limited time only. The promotional monthly fee applies for 12 consecutive months from the date of joining. At the end of the promotional period, your membership will automatically transfer to the equivalent standard MOVE Southwark membership at the prevailing price unless you cancel your membership in accordance with the Membership Terms and Conditions.
