More than just poolside

Being a lifeguard is about confidence, responsibility and making a real difference. Our RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification gives you the skills and knowledge needed to work safely in a pool environment — from rescue skills and first aid to supervision and emergency response. And yes, you'll probably never look at a swimming pool the same way again.

If you’re interested in taking a qualification to become a lifeguard then come and enrol on our five day next course!

Are you aged 16 or above? Can you…

• Jump/Dive into deep water?
• Swim 50m in less than 60 seconds?
• Swim 100m continuously on front and back in deep
water?
• Tread water for 30 seconds?
• Climb out unaided without steps?

If you think you’ve got what it takes then we’d love to here from you.

Cost: £300 per person (includes cost of the AED qualification).

Course sessions:

  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Swimming pool safety operation and supervision

  • Pool lifeguard emergency rescue skills

  • First aid, illness and injury management in a pool environment

  • Theory paper test
